How heavy should my period be?

If your bleeding lasts 7 or days per cycle, or is so heavy that your need to change protection nearly every hour, you may have menorrhagia.  Menorrhagia is excessive menstrual bleeding.  About 1 in 5 women experiences unusually heavy menstrual bleeding.  There a several treatment options available, so be sure to talk with your doctor.
